One sunny morning in the forest, Harriet the rabbit met a loud young fox with a sharp voice and a clever grin.
In the forrest the animals need a new bridge to cross the river. He said he would take charge to build it becasue he said “I’m the smartest animal in the woods,”. “Just do what I say!”
The animals felt sad and dejected because they didnt want to work for a bossy animal, but the fox didn’t notice. He barked orders, made plans, and never listened.
The animals reluctantly worked but progress was slow because of the fox's attitude. That afternoon, a storm destroyed the partly built bridge and the fox had to swim to safety,
So the fox went to Harriet and saw that she was well capable of building a bridge. He asked her to help and he apologised for his bossy attitude and said he would listen and be more mindful of the other animals feelings.
Harriet could see that the fox was sorry and she said "yes I will help you and so will all the animals as long as you change your attitude and then we can all cooperate together. Everybody needs the bridge"
And so all the animals worked together to complete the bridge.
When the bridge was finished all the animals including the fox crossed it and all were delighted that together they completed the bridge.
The fox apologised for his earlier behaviour and said he now realised that it is better to encourage and support each other.
Harriet smiled gently. “It’s not about being in charge. It’s about helping each other.”
