Choose a Puzzle
CogniGrid includes 13 fixed puzzles,
arranged with a gradual increase in challenge.
Select a puzzle from the dropdown menu and press
Load Puzzle. You can also generate
Random Puzzles for additional challenges.
The Goal
Cover every target cell on the grid
using the available pieces. Pieces must fit completely
within the target area and cannot overlap.
Place a Piece
Select a piece from Available Pieces,
choose its rotation
(0°, 90°, 180° or 270°) if necessary,
then select a valid position on the grid.
Correct a Move
Use Undo Move to reverse your most
recent move. Select a piece already on the grid and use
Remove Piece to remove that particular
piece.
Need Help?
Single Assist or
Domino Assist can provide an additional
piece during the early part of a puzzle. Using an assist
adds a time penalty.
Complete the Puzzle
The puzzle is complete when every target cell has been
covered. Your result records your time, moves, rotations,
undos, attempts and any assist used.
Random Puzzles and Random IDs
Random Puzzle generates a new puzzle
with its own unique six-digit Random ID.
Use Save Puzzle to add that Random ID
to your Saved Puzzles list. Select it later and press
Load Saved to recreate that puzzle.
To recreate a puzzle directly from its ID, enter the
six-digit number in the
Random ID box and press
Load ID. The same ID recreates the
same puzzle.
Save and Restore Your Progress
Save Puzzle saves a Random Puzzle to
your Saved Puzzles list. The green
Save button is different: it saves your
current game in progress. Use the purple
Restore button to return to that saved
game position.
Tip:
There may be more than one way to approach a puzzle.
Consider the shapes available, the spaces they can
occupy, and how each placement affects your remaining
options.
